RealitE: The Doodle Dude, NJ, USA

I hope to make this a recurring theme, RealitE. With the flood of reality based programming online and on the tv, I thought it would be fitting to offer my version with a focus on "E" for Entrepreneurship. In this first, highlight... on Art Kaney from central shore in the State of New Jersey, has a great lifestyle business combining his talent for doodling with education and entertainment into an online and offline enterprise. He shares his skill with his family and a growing network of doodle dude alumni who have experienced his fun how-to's about drawing and capturing lifes little pleasures through classes and parties. His website is interactive and really invites visitors to play. Check it out: www.doodledude.com. What do you doodle? The lesson: live your passion, spread your talent.

  1. With the passion and talent, attitude is an integral ingredient. If you don't have the right attitude, it doesn't matter what you are passionate about or what talent you are blessed with. Being successful, you got to have the Doodle Attitude! :D

  2. Hy everyone , I must admit I didn't know what doodling or to doodle means, so I checked a few pages, red a few comments on the internet and it turned out I'd been doing it all along without even knowing :) Mostly I draw what I dreamed the night before, and it almost looks as if all of it were real- thats how many details I can capture in 3 minutes of sleeping :D Quite interesting actually. Last night I dreamed of my own hacienda with a river near by where I can rent my specially designed wooden canoes like those that Indians have-Pocahontas style :). I also have a potentially large business concetrated on horsebreeding, and a nice Latino guy as a special dessert...I doodled everything in a form of Mindmap- probably the impact of Enterpreneurship class over the past few weeks :D with certain objects in the corner of the page, that I still can't figure out what they mean...I also just like to draw the lines across the paper, making oval shapes without any intention but when adding color to it, it looks kind of nice...So this is called doodling, ok- I'love it :D

  4. I have no talent at all for drawing and my handwriting sucks so much that I'm the only person who can read it. But I doodle a lot when I'm on a class and the thing that i doodle are faces :S . I have no idea why but if you look at my notebook you'll see a strange looking face on almost every page. and the most interesting thing is that I do it unconsciously

  6. This is particularly useful for those of us with limited drawing skills and artistic ability. :) On another note, with the increasing clutter in media there is a shift from the traditional 30 sec spot to developing branded content in the form of television series and reality shows - in Pakistan a number of production houses have propped up, a majority of which are entrepreneurial ventures.

  8. When I started drawing those lines in class I couldn´t imagine it would really look like an reptile in the end.
Sometimes when I am bored, I also draw some funny images on my notebooks.
This site is a good thing for people that are not so talented for drawing (I am one of those).

  11. I really liked our exercise in class when we doodle a reptile. This site is not only useful for those who have no drawing skills but also for those who have them, because they can learn new drawing techniques and get new ideas. I like Doodle Dude because everything is so playful and childish on the page. I often doodle in my notebook during the lectures, these are usually small colorful images- flowers, hearts, stars, people, etc.
